Red ice skating dress
December 2017 - January 2018
started from a Jalie pattern
inspired be Reign

Jalie pattern
This project is an ice skating dress that created in December 2017 and January 2018. I wore it at my 2018 ice skating exam in march. Since I had to be able to move a lot in at, it had to be flexible and comfortable, but still elegant as well. To make sure that this dress would be as functional as it should be, I decided to use a real ice skating dress pattern from Jalie and then transform the pattern until it looked like I wanted.

Reign - CBS TV Studios
This dress is inspired by the dresses worn by Queen Mary in the TV show Reign.
The bodice is made ou of scarlet jersey and I used scarlet voile/organza for the off shoulder sleeves and skirt. I also used some lace with a gold flower pattern and some golden rhinestones to decorate the dress.
I didn't use the skirt from the Jalie pattern and I made a circle skirt instead to make it look more like a royal dress just as Mary's.

Since I had to be able to move a lot in all directions, the dress had to be flexible and comfortable, but still elegant of course.
