Burda Louis-Phillipe Pattern

This dress was made for my little sister in September 2017. The months before I started this project, I was working on my 1860 ball gown that I was going to wear at a 19th century themed event. Four days before the event, my sister decided she wanted to come with me, so this wasn’t really a planned project... Because of the short amount of time, I decided to use a store-bought pattern instead of making one myself, which saved me a lot of time. In the end, I spend two days on the dress and the other two on the hat.

The dress is made of a white cotton with a flower print. It is decorated with red lace and velvet ribbon. The hat that goes with this costume is actually the very first hat I ever made and it was the most fun and interesting part of this costume. I designed it myself based on the research I did on the internet. It is made out of and old straw hat that I reshaped, lined and decorated.
